This afternoon we stopped off for a couple of pints at a pub in Wallington, Surrey. My thoughts inevitably strayed to the tale of a young man who, whilst delivering crisps and lemonade in that same town, decided that a career as an actor would be much more satisfying and enjoyable. Unfortunately my other 'alf didn't share my fascination for the place and actually had the audacity to laugh at my suggestion that a blue plaque should be installed to commemorate the event...

I can sympathise with J as Wallington is hardly the nicest of places! And you should have come round for a cuppa seeing as you were only down the road from me. Hope the rest of your travels take you to more exciting places than Wallington!!
