This probably won't mean much to a lot of you, but anyone who was living in London in the 70s will know exactly what it's all about...

37 years on...

Just wondering now whether "G. Davis is innocent OK" ever appeared in the background of a Pros scene...

Bloody hell, that's a blast from the past. I remember going to London then to visit my Dad's relatives and seeing that slogan everywhere. I don't recall seeing it in a Pros scene but now I'll have to study the screen even harder!

It was everywhere, wasn't it!

I bet we would see it somewhere in Pros if we watched enough eps! *g*

I remember very clearly the test match pitch being dug up!

Interesting! And what a good news story.

Graffiti is worth looking out for in Pros eps - in "Purging" the director had his own name in spraypaint. And that Rhodesia graffiti in "Runner" is of historical interest.

I recently noticed a Frelimo poster in Heroes, when Doyle goes to that club and gets into a fight with the black guys. I know it's not exactly graffiti but it was very topical 30 years ago.

It should have appeared somewhere, shouldn't it? I travelled to Mile End regularly in the late 70s and I'm sure I saw it plastered on a few walls there.

You did!

I went to school right next to Mile End station, and there was loads around there!

Wonder if we ever walked past each other back then? Although I left school in '72, so maybe not...

Oh, interesting - I've got to admit I've never heard of him, but yeay that he's finally managed to clear his name. So, presumably they never did find who actually did it, then... Eeep...

Never heard of George Davis? Your education has been sadly lacking... *g*

I think a lot of it passed me by at the time, although like luka I remember the test match pitch being dug up. And heh, I also remember "Bill Posters will be Prosecuted" >> "Bill Posters is innocent OK" grafitti :D

Ah well, you'd have just been a babe-in-arms back then, of course.

You young whippersnapper...
