Of Dvds and Blu Rays and Stuff...

So, as I mentioned in my last post, I'd decided to treat myself to the limited edition Pros blu rays and had resigned myself to waiting until June before I'd get my hands on them. However, since the weekend I have been hearing increasing numbers of "Ooohs" and "Ahhhs" and deafening "Squeees" from my fellow Pros fans as the first dvds and blu rays began to land in their laps.

I was only smiling ruefully at this point, enjoying everyone's excitement but still happy to wait. And then folks started posting photos - photos we'd never seen before! - and screencaps of such clarity that they took your breath away. And I suddenly realised that by purchasing the blu rays I'd have to continue to use the old dvds for screencaps and vidding, and I'd only be able to view all those wonderful photos on my tv and never be able to use them on my computer. Because, of course, I can't play blu rays on my laptop or on the PC!

But I desperately wanted to see the lads on blu ray (and, of course, the OH has just bought me a blu ray player specifically for that purpose) and had no intention of changing my mind about ordering the deluxe version, so I had a bit of a dilemma on my hands. What should I do? Well, there was only one thing I could do, wasn't there?

I've just ordered the dvds...

Well done for ordering DVD box! lol I've been waiting for my Blu-Ray box is delivered soon. It's on its way to my place now!

Anyway, I'm curious about the limited edition you mentioned. Are they going to release it in June!? How different are they between DVD or Blu-Ray ones we're enjoying now??? Could you tell me? I'm a little maniac about Pros media thing now... Bit obsessed with them I should say...

The limited edition deluxe blu ray set is going to be available from 9th June. The discs themselves will be no different to the blu rays that are available now, but they come with a book containing "mostly unpublished" photos that aren't included in the gallery on the discs. That's the reason I'm going for the deluxe version - I want that book!! *g*

OMG! I should have noticed the info before I ordered Blu-Ray box! I want that book too... Should consider buy limited edition in June...

The limited edition will only be available from Network. It's not available to order yet but if you go to the Network website you can request them to send you an email when they start taking orders.

The blu ray is brilliant and well worth it , the deluxe edition I will get sometime later in the year but I'm afraid I couldn't wait and lo and behold it arrived on Sunday morning xx

I was quite happy to wait until June for the deluxe blu rays until I realised that I'd need the dvds to do all the usual stuff like screencapping and vidding etc. Now that I've ordered the dvds though I've become like a cat on hot bricks - I don't want to wait until next week for them to be delivered, I want them now!!

That is a perfectly wise reason to get he DVDs as well. I don't have a Blueray player and my PowerDVD programme wouldn't play Blueray, so that's why I'm only getting the DVDs. I couldn't just sit and watch without thinking about capping.

My DVDs are supposed to arrive on 10th April, but I won't hold my breath, because Australia Post is crap now.

I was a bit undecided about splashing out on both the dvds and the blu rays at first, but as my daughters gave me an Amazon voucher for Mother's Day last Sunday I didn't take much persuading in the end!

Meanwhile I was a bit surprised to see the new DVD is also being advertised with a book here.

I think that will be the Andrew Pixley book that comes as standard with all the dvd and blu ray releases.

I've just did the same!
I dream about deluxe version, I so much want to have this book with photographs and so on. But the June and with posting to Russia I suspect it can be August... And I don't even have the blu ray player, I'm going to buy it but.. Who knows there can be problems with the region codes or something. And then I saw your post, I read it, sat watching at it and then I went and placed the order. And you know what? I feel so happy now! Thank you))

I feel happy too, I think I would have been pulling my hair out if I'd waited until June. Now I keep checking my order status on the Amazon site and I'm getting really impatient because the dvds are still being "prepared for dispatch".

Just my thoughts! May be I could wait, but with everyone getting their discs and being so joyful about that it became really impossible. And some paranoidal idea that the sets will end erm.. will be out of stock.
I ordered directly from Network on Air coz I had sad experience with British Amazon, also with Pros DVD, and now I feel like checking every minute how is going with my order. Generally if I really made it or not :D
